TOPIC: The use of mobile phones should be banned in public places like libraries and shops. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Social media has deeply infiltrated everyone’s life, particularly mobile phones. It is argued that those gadgets should not be allowed in public places. In my perspective, although advantageous in certain aspects, the use of cell phones should be banned in areas where they cause disruptions such as libraries, hospitals and shops, but in others, they should be welcomed provided that they are used in a cautious manner.
On the one hand, there are a number of drawbacks of using cellphones in certain places such as libraries or hospitals. First and foremost, the library is an area where every people opt for a concentration, just a mere of sounds of phone notifications can be greatly irritating and annoying the tranquil spaces. For this reason, many libraries set many rules and regulations against people talking and disturbing by the phones, and they have to make sure that ones switched to silent mode. Moreover, in hospitals, with some restrictions as mobile phones can interfere with the recovery of patients. Nobody wants constant noises of people who use phones at max volume, call videos and talk loudly which can be harmful to the patients. In addition, the environment at stores or other public avenues abuzz with people and communication on cell phones will add more chaos.
On the other hand, apart from the aforementioned areas, mobile phones meet the need of users in many factors. The limitations of using phones can avoid people from keeping in touch with their friends and acquaintances in case of emergencies such as accidents. Furthermore, those who are keen on working with music can thrive their productivity. Therefore, in my opinion, banning phones in certain places is simply unnecessary. In order to avoid distraction from the sounds, users can switch to the vibrate mode and restrict speaking with high volume.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that the ban on using mobile phones in libraries, hospitals and shops can be accepted. However, in other public revenue, these gadgets play an essential role as perfect devices.
