Topic: Some experts believe that it is better for children to begin learning a foreign language at primary school rather than secondary school. Do the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages?

It is believed that learning a foreign language should be applied right at primary level instead of secondary one. As a foreign language learner, I absolutely agree with this idea for many following advantages.

In terms of biology, children at the age of six or seven are usually likely to learn new things. They often desire to learn all kinds of first sight things around them, which is well adapted to the study of new language. The curiosity is also a magical motivation helping children focus on the target language better. As a result, they can make a big step on the journey of achieving that language. Moreover, the brain of childen at this stage is quite good at memorizing and learning by heart new items because there are millions of nervous cells generated day by day. It is truly a massive advantage for children to learn a second language at this age.

In terms of environment, also known as an objective factor, primary students have better learning conditions than secondary pupils. Firstly, kids from five to ten years old in most of countries have less studying pressure at school than junior students. They are not forced to solve a dozen of other subjects's assignments like maths, physics, chemistry, etc. Therefore, they can concerntrate on learning languages better. Last but not least, they are less affected by their mother tongue, which is one of the biggest barrier for language learners because they often depend on their first language signigicantly.

All in all, learning a foreign language should be carried out as soon as possible to let children learn the language naturally and effectively
