Writing essay - Background Knowledge

Hi everyone,

I am new member of English forum. I have learnt to write academic essays for a few months and had many difficulties in brainstorming due to deficient background knowledge. Could you provide some websites that will help me ameliorate this situation? I would like to focus on education, film industry, health, family and children, and technology.

By the way, I am interested in compound adjectives as well as compound nouns. Where could I find some academic ones?
