Writing book reflections

What is the difference between a book reflection and a book critique?

Top answer

I've never heard of a 'book reflection'; it sounds rather dilettantish. The one I found on line seems to be a rather weak critique, dwelling on the parts of the book that the writer 'loved'. Critiques are often harsher.

I've never heard of a "book reflection", but my intuition tells me that it is a personal, subjective reaction to a book, perhaps as it relates or applies to one's personal life, whereas a critique is as objective an account as possible, dealing with such things as literary style and technique.
