Writing an essay about topic: Fresh water has always been a limited resource in some parts of the world. What are the causes of the shortage of fresh water and what measures could governments and individuals take to respond to this problem?

Nowadays, fresh water has consistently been a scarce natural resource in some regions of the world. This essay will examine some factors contributing to the freshwater crisis and also the actions that individuals and organizations can take to address them.

Two explanations for the water crises include population explosion and altered weather patterns. Firstly, the population explosion is a significant element, which has driven the world's increased need for drinkable water. Birth rates definitely have led to the increased level of a lot of things, especially water consumption, making them out of season and contributing to the difficulty of satisfying demand. Secondly, one of the major reasons for the shortage of fresh water is because of altered weather patterns, and the increase in the earth’s temperature. When the weather is getting hotter and hotter, moist in the soil will evaporate or dry up leading to little or no supply of this natural resource

There are some possible solutions that individuals and organizations can do to address the freshwater crisis. Organizations can implement public education schemes regarding controlled water usage or strengthen water-saving systems such as collecting water in dams, and reservoirs or reviving old ponds and lakes. A good illustration is Singapore, where the governments effectively implement these means to reserve fresh water. Similarly, the public can also contribute towards limiting their daily household water usage or even refraining from performing activities and implementing family plans.

In conclusion, though there are many factors contributing to the scarcity of fresh water, mainly caused by overpopulation and climate change, governments and the public can propagate different measures to resolve them.
