Writing activity

Hello teachers!

I have planned a writing activity for upper intermediate students.

Please correct any ingrammatical sentences.

Aim: To give students writing practice with their imaginations.

Prepare a story and cut it off at a point where students could develope their imaginations and write more.StartFragment>

Procedure:

1. Give out a sheet of paper where the introduction of the story 'The Lizard' is printed.

2. Explain students that they are going to write a few more sentences continuing the written one. And remind them that there are two different tenses in the story.

3. Give students time to imagine and write. Students are allowed to look up in the dictionary if necessary. The teacher goes around the classroom and helps students writing.

4. When students have finished their writing, make groups of four and let students exchange their writings. Students are free to comment on the other students' writing in terms of grammar mistakes or how they like the stories.

5. Homework: After correcting their first draft, students have to bring their homework next class.

remarks: If there are some students having hard time writing the story, help them developing their imaginations, how will they construct the story first. Then encourage them to think about some key words.
