Writing a question for a sentence.

I want an open question for this sentence "He looks fierce"

"How does he look like?" <<<<<<< is this questions grammatically correct.

I don't want a question like "Is he fierce?"

Yes it's correct. You also may ask: "Does he look fierce?" or "He looks fierce, doesn't he?"
