Writing a Novel

How would you go about writing hearing a voice talk to you in your head.
The voice comes from an item that he can only hear.
Example.
Sam slammed the door.
[Item says] 'Keep it down or they'll hear you.'
'You keep it down,' Sam said.
The [item] laughed, 'But no one can hear me..'

  • So your "voice" has to have a character, unless it is just a madness in the brain.

You need a better source than "item."

It could be a big white rabbit, like Harvey or a little girl like Clara. or a murdered husband that only a psychic can see.
