Letter Writing

Writing a motivation/cover letter

Hey there!
So I'm wanting to apply for an international game design course. I have to write a letter of motivation/cover letter and since I want to write a perfect letter while my native language is Dutch and not English, I'm asking for your help.
I would like some feedback on my letter and preferably some corrections/suggestions/tips regarding the letter.
I also do not yet have a proper ending to my letter, so it would be much appreciated if someone could help me with that too.
So here's the letter:
---

April, 2012
Dear Sir/Madam,
My name is Claudia, I am 18 years old and I am about to finish my pre-university education. I am hereby applying for the Visual Arts variation of you International Game Architecture and Design course. By following this course I am hoping to become the best visual artist I can be and become a welcome addition to the game design industry.
Since the second year of my secondary education, I have known I wanted to do this specific course. I have always had an interest in all forms of art, such as visual art, music, architecture, literature and photography. Because my parents are from Indonesia, I have been exposed to Asian popular culture at a very young age. This also caused me to start playing videogames at a very young age and I have been fascinated by them ever since. It seems only obvious to me that I have the ambition to become a game designer because of my interest in art, culture, history and technology.
For as long as I can remember, I have loved drawing. I found it to be something to both express and amuse myself with. I have been practicing and experimenting using different techniques and materials such as paint, charcoal ink and collage-making to find out which style I like and suits me best. I have also taught myself digital coloring with Photoshop. This and my natural interest in technology also made me want to do the three-year computer science program in my school. Here I have developed some programming and math skills and a strong interest in engineering, web design and animation.
I enjoy problem-solving and figuring things out, both by examining theory as putting it into practice. I have always been eager to learn and discover new things and luckily, I can pick up new things very easily. Because of my rather serious nature, I have taught myself to always work hard for the things I want to achieve and to concentrate and to focus on my goal. I have learnt to balance my time and priorities and to work structured and orderly.
During my secondary education, I have followed and completed a two-year course called ‘Human Dynamics’. During this course, I have learnt how to effectively work together in small or larger groups. I have also been taught how to deal with differences in the personalities of different group members to fully benefit from each individuals qualities to successfully and pleasantly work together on longer projects. I am sure that this experience will be of great value.

Feel free to post any advice or questions regarding my letter or the specific course.

Thank you in advance.
