and is the WHETHER part ok, can you use WHETHER like this?

- I am writing you as I am looking for a position in a modeling agency, whether a booking position or an other position consisting of updates/updating for your internet site, editing pictures, etc which is what I was hired to do previously at a another modeling agency in LA.

When could you use WHETHER?
Could you say?
1 Whether a secreterial job or a blue collar job, I'll turn the offer down.
2 Whether black or red, I'll have to say no to those colors.
Why can't you use WHETHER in my above sentence but EITHER.
