Task 2: Some people believe that it is more important to teach children the literature of their own country than other countries. Do you agree or disagree?

It is true that teaching children the literature of their own country should be more necessary than other countries. While I accept that l gain plenty of wonders when studying the literature of their domestic, however, I also believe that learning foreign literature is important.

To begin with, there are several reasons why literature works bring about various in-depth knowledge about historical and traditional heritage. First of all, learning local literature gives children opportunities to enhance vocabulary and mother tongue language skills. To be more specific, the more local novels student read, the more proficient in the language they gain. Secondly, a literary work has a profound understanding of historical culture and various difficulties their ancestors had to experience to gain independence from imperial powers. Besides, they learn interesting cultural aspects passed onto different generations. For example, ‘’ Truyen Kieu’’ helps the student have a closer insight into the custom of people in Vietnam, which lead to take pride in their history and preserve those valuable features.

Furthermore, teaching literature of other nations also may broaden their knowledge. Not only can students acquire knowledge of culture events, but they are also able to know their traditional of each area in the world. Hence, young generations will avoid issues related to culture shock if they will go abroad or work with the foreign company. In addition, the students are all ready for globalization. For example, if they know traditional as well as historical of their own country or other nations, they tend to solve a problem in different aspects.

In conclusion, as the reason mentioned above, I believe that it is more efficient to learn culture and traditional both their own countries and other nations.
