I have some problems with these sentences my friend gave me to correct. I know there's something wrong with them because they sound weird. I wanted to change them completely but she wants to use as much of the original vocabulary as possible. I am not a native speaker and I am not sure if the collocation is proper or not. What can be done with these sentences to make them sound correct?

It is very inconvenient when during eating out you are thinking if a dish was prepared under appropriate conditions.
If we want to save some money we should let ourselves try to prepare something to eat instead of eating out.
As I mentioned at the outset, I am for eating household food because it is more convenient and the food is of better quality. Thanks to it we are healthier and happier.
