Writer's block; funny to or for

Hi,

1) I heard a writer talking about writer's block in an interview, but he said something that didn't sound good to my ear.

"I was in the first stage of writing and I was already experiencing the writer's block."

Shouldn't it be without 'the'?

2) I know that something can be funny to someone. I was just wondering if 'for' is also an option.

"The whole situation started off as being awkward but eventually became funny for everyone."

Thank you.

  • " That is not too bad, but I'm sure there are more cases where "for" would sound dead wrong.
  • "To" is better here.
