Write my speech / made a first draft for the presentation quickly

Hi,

Background:

The first thing I did when I write my speech for my presentation is that I write the first draft of the speech.

Question1:
Can I say "I made a first draft for the presentation"?
Question2:
Can I use the "write my speech"?
Any better alternative?

Sentence:
When I started to make my PowerPoint slide and write my speech, I made a first draft for the presentation quickly.

Thanks
