Barbara, if I don't want to use all of them in the same sentence. However I need to know that if all the ten instructions are correct or not? I mean if I want to use one of them in an exam paper?

If you're only going to use one of them, that's fine. Barbara's right though; if they are going to be used together like in that list you gave, they feel unnecessarily, maybe even annoyingly, repetitive.

Hi

If the question to me was about French, say, I would just ask 'What is the French for cat?' (C'est chat)

If the question was about a language that transliterates in a different way from my own then, yes, I might ask: how do you write cat?

????

(Hope that's right!)
