It is argued that material goods play an essential part in creating happiness for people. However, others think that materialistic things are helpful and do not provide genuine satisfaction. Apart from wealth and money, I believe many other factors bring real contentment to individuals. On the one hand, money and material possessions are significant in human existence for various reasons. For example, money was created to meet people’s necessities. People require money to pay for housing, food, health care, and fulfill personal purposes. Moreover, having a lot of money are well educated and a spot in every profession. It also broadens relations, allowing people to approach and join the wealthy elite easily. Nevertheless, I believe that possessions are merely utilitarian and do not bring inner contentment. Some individuals suppose that true happiness cannot be bought with money. Affluent people can purchase everything they desire with their money, but they cannot buy happiness. For instance, they are frequently preoccupied with their jobs and do not have time to look after or educate their children. It leads children to have sex and take drugs because they have lots of money given by their parents. Gradually, people will progressively become miserable as a result of this, and the gap between children and their parents will widen. From my point of view, I suppose that real happiness does not only depend on material possessions. It is also love, compassion, and understanding of people. Affluence does not guarantee satisfaction for a family. To achieve it, they would have to sacrifice work time for time with their families. To sum up, material goods are a necessary means in people’s life nowadays. However, it does not provide joy and happiness. The genuine mirth is based on love, emotions, and empathy, none of which can be purchased by money.
