Childhood memories are always one of our best memories. I also had a very memorable childhood memory. I still remember when I was 9 years old. I was able to go back to my hometown with my family. There was a time when I experienced catching fish in a country way. But it is not using a fishing rod to fish but using your own hands to catch fish. The special thing here is that we don't go to the sea or rivers, but to the fields. In that field, there was a pond full of mud and what we did was catch fish there. There are freshwater fish such as catfish, snakehead fish, even some wigglier eels. Because the fish live in the mud, so it is difficult to see them. So we have to reach for them with our hands or we will look at the surface of the pond. Wherever there is movement, there will be fish. After catching fish we washed their outer mud. They are cooked into many dishes such as braised fish, sour fish, or eel soup. Moreover, we used to cook porridge, hot pots are very delicious. There is a very unique way to cook fish. This method is common in the Western countryside of Vietnam. That is to use a small bamboo stick to pierce the fish, then stick them in the ground. Cover and burn with straw. When the fire goes out, the fish is cooked. Remove the burnt fish skin and enjoy the sweetness of the fish. The taste is great. It's a memory of my childhood until now I can't forget.
