I need your help with some basic wrestling (e.g.freestyle) terms
(1) to execute a throw
What other verbs can I use for 'to execute' in this context?
Similarly, what verbs can I use with the noun "hold"?
(2) a throw over the knee/back/head - which of these make sense to native speakers?
(3) In soccer, one can say,"Baggio was trippedin the penalty area" I wonder if "be tripped" is also applicable to wrestling?
(4) what verbs should I use with the nouns a fall/a pin?
to execute/perform/make a pin/fall?
I know that it is possible to use a verb in this context (e.g. "the wrestler managed to pin his opponent in 30 seconds" or something like that?)....but is there an alternative such as "to VERB a pin/fall"?
Thank you!

Hi, Have you tried searching with Google? There are lots of wrestling sites. org/wiki/Professional_wrestling_holds#Front_chancery Clive
In olympic freestyle wrestling both competitors start from a standing position and try for a "takedown" by grabbing the legs in some way.
A takedown will send one of the competitors to the mat, with the person who executed the takedown in control. The person in control will then try to further his control by turning his opponent (while under his control) so that his back faces the mat.
As I can gather from your reply, 'takedown' is more general than 'throw', i.e.some takedowns can be referred to as throws but not the other way around. (I have checked some links on wrestling and found out that the expression 'to execute an N-point throw' is too quite common in freestyle wrestling).
