Would’ve as backshifted?

In the same way that I might say that in "Patrick is afraid of spiders" you may use "snakes" instead of "spiders" (and it doesn't make the sentence any less grammatical). Of course, the meaning changes.

"I know I would have been kicked out of the school by Friday that week, so I was going to start looking for another school." This sentence really sounds like a third conditional sentence as you said.
