Would've

We are walking about some random jungle and we saw some weird looking thing almost looks like a jug made of wood.

Now, can I say, this would’ve been made to pick up water.

Is the use of would’ve correct? If not, at what context can we use would’ve when you have less confidence or not sure? Thanks.

We seem to be having a lot of questions on the Forum about this speculative use of 'would have', but in my experience this use is very, very uncommon. We typically say it another way. eg This was probably made made to pick up water.
