Wouldn't want to

Hi, experts. I have written this.

I know you say you're fine after what happened, but I don't know if I can trust that. I know you wouldn't want to talk about it, but actually that's what has me worried, because I feel like you've been pulling away. You don't talk to anyone. You just sit at home doing nothing. Which is very disturbing because you've always been this happy outgoing guy.

Is wouldn't OK here?

Is because I feel like you've been pulling away correct or is it missing something?

Is I feel like and I feel that interchangeable in most contexts? Which one is more common in everyday conversation?

Thanks a lot in advance.

  • Yes, but I think 'don't' is probably more appropriate as it is more of a definite thing than a hypothetical one.
  • anonymous Is because I feel like you've been pulling away correct or is it missing something?
  • It's technically correct, but not necessarily that common as an expression.
  • Maybe 'because I feel you've been a bit distant' would be a similar, more familiar, expression, but there's nothing really wrong with yours.
