wouldn't or weren't

Hi everyone,

How would I say the following correctly and why is one preferred over the other?

"I wish you wouldn't be so angry" or "I wish you weren't so angry"

Thank you in advance

They are both fine. To me, the first suggests a general tendency to ire, while the second suggests that the recipient of the speech is hot under the collar at the moment. PS: I see this is your first post, Chompipe-- welcome to English Forums!
