Would+ing

I would be running if I were there. - Is this the imaginary present?

I would be running if I were there. Also, I would be listening to music.

Should I keep verb+ing once I started explaining an imaginary situation in the present?

I would run if I were there. - Does this one have the same meaning as the one above?

At this moment in time, I imagine I am there and I see myself running.
whatchadoinI would run if I were there.
I imagine I am there and see that I might chose to run. (Maybe the conditions for running there are ideal.)

whatchadoinI would be running ... I would run
This difference is practically the same as the difference between I am running and I run, namely 'be in the act of running' and 'do running activities from time to time'.

If I'd seen her, I would've been talking to her.

What does 'would+in' mean in the third conditional?

This doesn't work for me. The sentence expresses a hypothetical event sometime in the past. The progressive does not make sense.

If I'd seen her, I would've talked to her.

Agree.

The continuous might work better in the third conditional with a different situation.

If had not been watching TV at the time, I would have noticed that my neighbor's car was on fire.

Would you rather have me in the team or someone who is/was better than me?

Which one is correct here?

is.

To use 'was' (past),

Would you rather have had me on the team or someone who was better than me?

Would it be totally wrong if I left out 'had'? And do native speakers sometimes use 'is' when they should use 'was' or 'were'?

I believe we've already talked about that version.

Speakers of any language make mistakes, so I'm sure it happens occasionally.
