That would be cool if they could make it. Or

That would be cool if they can make it.

I would start with it for the first one. It would be cool if they could make it sounds better. ) The other one seems to change viewpoint, so I expect a dash.

I would start with it for the first one.

It would be cool if they could make it sounds better. (Their being able to make it would be a cool thing.)

The other one seems to change viewpoint, so I expect a dash.

[That / It] would be cool - if they can make it. (Their being able to make it would be a cool thing, but I'm not sure they can.)
