Would you show me about what the component of words in the two sentences in English?

Question1.

Would you show me about what the component of words in the two sentences in English?
Especailly I can't see what the component of "give up whispering and listen.".
For my meaning of Questions, I'm confused if "up" in the #1,2 is preposition or adverb and particle or not.
From time to time I can't see the a clear distinction between "part of speech" and "component of sentence" .

What do you think about it? If you have how to know them, I'd like to get your advice.
Question2.
For more information,I have heard that students of English speaking countries don't have the classes like that or like English grammar  classified five forms basically, "5????" in Korea, right?

In Korea, Our students have to learn and be tested it in the middle and high school. But I can't see why we have to learn it to use Englsih.
That's why I ask.

Question3.

If I replace "listen" as "listening in the #1 , Is it right? I think both of them right.

# 1. Her low and soft voice made the other actors give up whispering and listen.

# 2. (Stop smoking! ) You can keep your health by giving up smoking.

I don't know what English grammar is taught nowadays. I took traditional grammar in junior high school.
