Would you say:
1- " Her face looks (very much) like the face of her mother."
2- "Her face bears a resemblance to the face of her mother."
3- "Her face resembles the face of her mother."

The face of her mother sounds odd. Her mother’s is more natural. But I would just say She looks like her mother .

We say them like this. Note the use of the possessive mother's, which means "the face of her mother" in this context.

No. In English you can't put words between the verb and its object. You'll have to move "very much".

They're both the same in grammatical terms. It's a matter of style, and that means you might make the decision based on the other kinds of sentences you are using within the same text.

Just as an isolated sentence I'd choose the first one, where 'very much' comes earlier in the sentence.
