Here is a text which honestly I didn't understand most of it.
In An American Exodus book, Taylor talks of the three-centuries-old magnetism of 'an ever-receding Western frontier', a 'tradition which still draws distressed, dislodged, determined Americans to our last West, hard against the waters of the Pacific'. But this 'new West', this 'new frontier' is bereft of any romantic myths, already transformed by farm mechanization. The only opportunity awaiting those travelling there is to 'obtain intermittent employment in a disorganized labour market'.
There are some bold words which I did'nt get in the context. And would you please paraphrase it?
Regards,
Nesa
