would you please help me....

can you please help me correct these sentences:

a)I almost always talk through the chat or the phone with my best friends

WOuld : I almost always talk via chat or by phone with my best friends( provided that I want to emphasize the means of communications) be better?

b)My favorite time of the day is when I go out to the gym. I love doing exercise and challenging myself

I would change it into : my favorite time of day is when I go to the gym...
but I am not sure why. What do you think(e.g. which one is better and why...)

c)My favorite moth is June because I was born in it and summer starts.

I think 'meaning-wise' is ok but I wonder if and how it can be improved. Any suggestions?

With regard to c) I was wondering if : My favorite month is June because it is the month when I was born... what do you think? If somebody could help me with the other sentences I would be grateful...
