Would you please explain about the phrase,"might as well"?

I 'd like to know the meaning  of it,also how it  could be  used as its  mean.
Please show me the logical  process.

The lines go-

A win will go on our permanent record.

You might as well tell them, Mr. Schneebly.

Our class project isn't a sentence it is a subject or an object, so it cannot stand alone. A class project is an assignment that is usually given to students to develop on their own or in small groups. Let's say for instance the teacher tells the students that everyone needs to build a battery and then they need to make something that can use the battery's energy, such as an electrical light.

  • Sometimes the students compete for recognition or prizes for these projects.
