Vietnam attracts me because as the culture is totally different from ours and can give rise to a new philosophy of life. The disavantages of such a project might be the culture shock and the homesickness. I had better to prepare me to this and also prepare my coming back to France. I suppose that it won’t be easy.

I like travelling, and giving my time and energy to help people who feel the need. So I will spend my gap year in Vietnam working as a volunteer in an association : Solidarité Jeunesse.

Befor leaving France, I will save money for have extra during my free day. For this, I will work in summer camps, during all summer. Concerning the travel I must get a visa to go to Vietnam, the association provide us the paper for the asking.

Once there, long-term volunteers live and work like local people in a range of positions including website management, office work, teaching, environmental and social work to support sustainable development.
It is planned that the long term volunteer should all live together in a Vietnamese house belonging to the association in Hanoi. It’s common that the volunteers share their room. The house have bedrooms, shared shower and a huge kitchen and living room.
The accommodations and food are payed by the association in exchange to my participation to the community life.

I hope I will improve my English, return with stars in my eyes, and, bring wealth to Vietnam.
