Task 2: Some people think that there should be some strict controls about noise. Others think that they could just make as much noise as they want. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Over the last decades, noise control has evolved as a major topic of concern in modern society. Whilst some people argue that it is their freedom to create noise, I would contend that some stringent regulations on noise generation should be established to reduce its detrimental effects.

On the one hand, it is undeniable that people have rights to generate noise freely. To explain, people nowadays often suffer from stress at work or study. Hence, some recreational activities such as karaoke singing or music party with blasting volume are supposed to be effective means of entertainment to heal their depression. In addition, for some jobs, noise is inevitable. An illustration of this is construction work, which often involves a great deal of unavoidable noise due to hammering and excavation. If imposed too strictly, any restriction of noise may prevent them from fulfilling their work.

However, I can understand arguments against noise makers. Firstly, loud sound can cause considerable disturbance to nearby residents who also have rights to take a rest after a tiring day. For example, enjoying a book would be a tough challenge with those whose neighbor keeps singing too loud. On top of that, an excessive level of noise can be adverse to the health of both intentional and unintentional hearers. Chronic exposure to pitch noise can result in auditory problems, mental instability and cardiovascular functions. For those reasons, without proper noise controlling measures, public health condition is likely to deteriorate.

Both sides examined, I am convinced that noise should be regulated for society’s well-being.The freedom of generating deafening sounds should be limited in private estates, which are well-equipped with sound-proof facilities.

Thank you. But could you explain why I should not use "blasting volume"? Actually, I do not really want to repeat "noise" again and again.
