It is inevitable that as technology develops so traditional cultures must be lost. Technology and tradition are incompatible-you can not have both together
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
The appearance of technology and its introduction in our life has certainly changed it; and by allowing and accepting these changes we lose a lot of our traditional cultures. But if this is the only sacrifice needed in order to progress and make the best use of the new technologies then I would agree with that.
It is very obvious that the use of technology came sometimes at the expense of our traditional cultures. For instance, the construction technology improved our living conditions by providing us with better, well-constructed houses. But this resulted on the abandon of our traditional way of building. It is true that those traditional ways produced sometimes what is regarded now as an art work. However, the technology can provide the continuously growing population with much comfortable, not necessarily a piece of art, house. Then why don't we desert the traditional ways to the modern architecture.
Another point of view would favor the tradition over the technology claiming that it has killed our identity and that the world are more rich by the difference which is added by every different culture, custom and habits. They would argue that modern technology of construction has produced ugly houses and some times with materials considered aggressive towards the environment, while those constructed using traditional ways are more adapted to environment and show an insider sight of its designer.
It is good to preserve and honor the traditional cultures and we can even use the technology it self to do so, but when they become incompatible I would favor the technology over the traditional cultures.
