Would you please correct my sentence

I came to Pune in 2004 to join my new office. That was my first visit to Pune. I request to my office guys to suggest me the place near to office where I can stay. They had suggested multiple places. One of the team member offered me to joined with him and rent was 8000/-. I had joined with him. Letter on I had explored the other areas and then released I was in wrong place. There were other good areas near to the office to stay with lesser rent compare to was paying rent on that time.
