0COLLECTIVE DYNAMICS IN BINARY MIXTURES: BENCHMARKING CURRENT 01b 00THEORETICAL02b 00 APPROACHES02br 02br 00The 01b 00collective high frequency dynamics02b 00 of molten sodium 01b 00are 02b 00studied by means of Inelastic Neutron Scattering. Two different theoretical approaches within the scheme of generalized hydrodynamics are tested against the experimental data: i) starting from 01b 00a/the02b 00 simple liquids paradigm, we extend the memory function formalism including concentration fluctuations variable01b 00; 02b 00 ii) we apply Generalized Collective Mode theory to identify the 01b 00precise02b 00 nature of the observed excitations. We find clear evidence of a crossover between a01b 00 low Q collective02b 00 01b 00region to a02b 00 high Q region dominated by atom-type excitations.
