A glance at the two pie charts provided reveals how leisure activities were popular among European adults in 1985 and ’95. It is evident that watching TV was the number one choice in those years.
It can be clearly seen that in both years watching TV covered approximately the same proportion of the adults (32% in ‘85 and 30% in ‘95). Besides, Talking with Friends amounted to 21% in 1985 with but 5% rise in 1995.
A closer look at the figures reveals that while 23% of the European adults chose Eating Out as a leisure activity in 1985, this population dropped dramatically in ’95 (to 8%). Furthermore, totally 8% of the adults chose other means of activities for their leisure time in both years.
In overview, it is interesting to note that nearly as many people played Computer Games as they Talked with Friends in 1995, whereas there was not such an opportunity for the Europeans with computers in 1985.
