There are a number of reasons why it is important to save the rainforests. One is that many plants which could be useful in medicine grow (grow) in the rainforest. We do not know (not know) all the plants yet, but there are many thousands of them. Researchers are trying (try) to discover their secrets before they are destroyed. Another reason is global warming - the idea that the world is getting (get) warmer. The rainforests is having (have) an important effect on the earth's climate. They are disappearing (disappear) at an alarming rate and soon they will be gone. People are not doing (not do) enough to save them. But is global warming such a problem? After all, many people are enjoying (enjoy) warm sunshine! Well, think of this. What is going to happen (happen) when you are heating (heat) ice? It melts (melt), of course! Now, the polar ice caps are consist (consist) of millions of tons of ice. If they melt (melt), the level of ithe sea will rise and cause terrible floods. Many scientists are believing (believe) that temperatures is already riseing (already rise). We must do everything in our power to prevent global warming, and that includes (include) preserving the rainforests.
