would you mind...? doubt

Hi everyone; i wanted to know if this expression is correct: "Would you mind helping me TO move this furniture". That "TO" is giving me some trouble Emotion: stick out tongue

When I was at school many years ago, the 'to' was obligatory in BrE. Only the inferior Americans dropped it. Nowadays it's optional in BrE. The colonials have won again.

The "to" is optional. Help can be followed by the to-infinitive or the bare infinitive. We say it both ways.
