Topic 1:

Scientist and the news media are presenting ever more evidence of climate change. Government cannot expected to solve this problem. It is the responsibility of individual to change their life style to prevent further damage. What are your view?

Answer:

Nowadays, a lot of evidences of global warming have been exposed by researchers and means of communications. Many people believe that authorities do not ability to give solutions. Therefore, residents should have responsibilities for reducing climate change. I would disagree with this point of view.

The primary cause of climate change is burning fossil fuels, such as coal and gas, which emits greenhouse gasses into atmosphere – primarily carbon dioxide. On the one hand, governments publish laws to reduce emission from human activities. Most of the gas exhaust is released from industrial fields. Some of laws force plants, industrial parks to install emission treatment systems or encourage them use low carbon gas instead of high carbon coal. Furthermore, there are also human activities, such as agriculture and deforestation, which contribute proliferation greenhouse gasses. Emission from the activities is controlled through enforcing urbanisms, land laws or laws which provide forest protection and development. Concurrently, the government’s regulations keep a tight rein on strong economic growth and environment conservation. However, some countries of the world, the laws haven’t enforced and applied sensibly.

On the other hand, authorities would be able to encourage each individual for changing their way of life to prevent global warming by meaningful advertisement from print media to electronic one. Once, people are aware of catastrophic effects of climate change on the planet, they would change the norms of social behaviors. The more people change, the less greenhouse gasses dispose.

In conclusion, governments play an integral role in limiting climate change. Their interventions would tackle the issues the more quickly, effectively and widely.
