would you ever vs have you ever

Hi,

I am just wondering about the difference between "would you ever" and "have you ever".

It's a little bit confusing especially since I have never used "would you ever".

'Have you ever' is asking about a fact. 'Have you ever eaten snails?' is asking if they have eaten snails at any point in their life. Yes or No. They have or they have not.

'Would you ever' is posing a question about their views on ever doing something in the future. 'Would you ever eat snails?' is asking whether or not they would eat snails given the opportunity to do so. My answer -
