Would you correct the essay?

Hello, I'd like the following essay checked. I don't think it is persuasive. What do you think?

"Best Friend"

I think the best friend can be a strict person for you. This means people can lead you to the right way when you are in the wrong direction. Because I had experienced such a situation, and I found out what a best friend is after that. The situation occurred when I liked a guy so much. I was crazy about him, and I could not concentrate on studying. Then, my best friend scolded me so that I would not be absorbed in him further than I had been. Thanks to her advice, I became calm and have behaved as usual. Therefore, I believe that a best friend is a person who give you some advice when you have difficulty.
