Would you correct my English? ( Nov. 15 )

Hello. I wrote two dialogues. Will you correct them?

No. 1

M: We've got a problem. Rani had a traffic accident and can't come.

F: Then let's ask Tom to take his place [ shoes ].

M: OK, but we have to consult with our boss, first.

No. 2

M: The groundbreaking ceremony for our new office has been put

off until December 1st.

F: I didn't know that. Why?

M: The people around there opposed the construction.

We need more time.
