Would you correct my English? (Mar.16)
Hello. I wrote two dialogues. Will you correct them?

F: What are you doing in a T-shirt?
M: My boss said we could dress informally. How do I look?
F: Well... it suits you. But he means you don't have to put on a tie.
I think your red shirt is a bit too loud.

"Derivative" is a word you won't find in too many casual conversations, and it's a leap from "not one of his masterpieces" to "derivative." A more natural response would be either "Oh, what didn't you like about it?" or "Which of his books did you like best?"

Using "that" does bring it back to shirt previously mentioned.
The problem is that a T-shirt is too informal for the office, which is a different problem then wearing a shirt that is too loud. (Great use of the word, however!)
A: That's an interesting shirt you're wearing.
B: The boss said we could dress more informally.
A: I think he meant you didn't
