Are both of these correct? What do they mean?

1. From earlier experimentation it would appear that there are some errors to be found but we do not know.

They are both correct, but only the first is really idiomatic. "it would appear" and "it would seem" are practically fixed expressions with the special meaning "strange or surprising as it may be, it appears". ) The second, less idiomatic, formula can be taken simply as a normal future.
