Question about '' was going to'' and ''would''

She told me when she arrived home, she would give her key to me.

Until now, I haven't got the key.

She told me when she arrived home, she was going to give her key to me.

Until now, I haven't got the key.

will ~ is going to; would ~ was going to.

... she [would / was going to] give her key to me.

Both versions are correct.

(Note: This doesn't mean that you can ALWAYS substitute was going to for would.)
