Would the following be suitable questions and answers?

Hi teachers,
This is for a listening comprehension exercise. The text is from a CD. (The Elephant Man)
Context:
I don’t think he understood at first, so I told him again. He was very quiet for a minute. Then he stood up, and walked up and down the room very quickly. A strange sound came from him, like laughing.

Assuming that we know that ‘I’ is the doctor and 'he' is 'Joseph', would the following be suitable questions and answers?
1. Why did the doctor have to tell Joseph a second time? Because he thought Joseph didn’t understand him at first.
2. Was Joseph happy with the news? Yes, he was.

Thanks in advance.

Hi screamerer,
Thank you for your reply. I'm sorry but I don't agree with you on that point. For me 'Joseph' clarifies the answer.
Let's see what the teachers have to say about that.

Thinking Spain'Joseph' clarifies the answer.
Yes, it does.

In the second one, we don't know he was happy. He made a strange sound, that's all. Although it sounded like laughing, it could have been sobbing or anything.
