Would the following be suitable questions and answers?

Hi teachers,
This is for a listening comprehension exercise. The text is from a CD. (The Elephant Man)
Context:
I did not see Merrick again for two years. Then, one day, the police found him. He had my card in his hand, so they brought him to the London Hospital.
_____________________________________________________
Assuming that we know that 'my card' is the 'doctor's card', would the following be suitable questions and answers?
a) When did the doctor see Merrick again? After two years.
b) How come did the doctor see Merrick again? Because the police found him and brought him to the London Hospital.
c) Why did the police bring Merrick to the London hospital? Because he had the doctor’s card in his hand.

Thanks in advance.

If by "how come" you mean "why" then you need "saw" not "did see": How come the doctor saw Merrick again? Why did the doctor see Merrick again? Everything else looks good to me!

Hi Shawn,
Thank you for your reply.
Hmm, why not 'did + subject + see' for that one?

"Do(es)/Did" + infinitive is for normal questions, but not "how come" questions. "How come" is informal and means "what is the reason that..." Normal sentence word order and verb tense follows "how come".

Example 1, affirmative statement:
The doctor

Shawn79Does this make sense? "How come" is not a proper question word like "why".
Hi Shawn,
Thank YOU for your detailed explanation! It makes a lot of sense! I didn't know about that one.
