Would someone help me with the right answer

Would anyone kindly help me with these lines:

(Lyrics)
You're Not Alone
--------------------------
She's getting out of bed at half past ten
She starts to comb her hair
Just an ordinary day
She looks at her reflection off the wall
Why do I care at all
Just an ordinary day
An ordinary day that's hurting you
----------------------------------------------------------
I can't understand the meaning in the 4th line: "She looks at her reflection off the wall"

Does it mean "She looks at her reflection fading away from the wall"
or, does it mean "She avoids looking at her reflection that is appearing on the wall" or both wrong?

and, what is the meaning of "reflection" stands for in the song?

I am not a native speaker. It seems no one in our Chinese Forum really knows the exact answer.

With great thanks!

Hi Nokia... it's strange, I would expect "on the wall". The reflection on the wall.

  • Hi Nokia...

  • The reflection on the wall.
  • But the lyrics actually say "off" (I checked them, and also listened to the song on Youtube).
  • I'm not a native speaker, but if I had to guess, I would say "off" means "that comes from".

Hi Nokia

Kooyeen's take sounds reasonable to me. I'd also say it simply means that she looks at her reflection "coming from a mirror on the wall". And the word 'wall' was used instead of 'mirror' because it rhymes with the last word in the next line (all).

Big thanks to both Kooyeen and Yankee

I've just checked the Longman Exams Coach Dictionary for the definition of "OFF". As a non-native speaker I often omit reading the definitions that marked "informal" in the dictionary. That's why I still don't master words that I’ve learnt.

All reasonable.
