'would prefer' with the future meaning

Hi there!
In the M.Vince`s 'Grammar in context', I`ve come across the following examples which are considered to be correct by the author:

'I`d prefer THAT you didn`t mention this.''I`d prefer IT IF you didn`t mention this.''I`d prefer YOU NOT to mention this.'

Now in another book by the same author, 'Advanced language practice', only one of the mentioned above is indicated:
''I'd prefer' can be used in the same way, but note that 'prefer' in this type of sentence has an object 'it'. (ex.)I'd prefer IT IF you didn't go.'

Are actually all three sentences correct?

Top answer

' Yes, those are fine and common. Paul Evdokimov n another book by the same author, 'Advanced language practice', only one of the mentioned above is indicated He may not have wished to be so comprehensive there, that is all.
