Would or will?

Hi,
'If we don't feel grateful for what we have, what makes us think we would be happy with more."
I saw this on the Net and I wondered why 'would' and not 'will". Could you help please?
Regards

"Would" is used for unreal situations. It's referring to something that doesn't exist at the moment. However, you could use "will" here too.

The writer takes the condition of having 'more' as somewhat improbable. The prospect that we will really have 'more' in the foreseeable future is only a remote possibility (in the writer's opinion).
