Would it be better if it were rewritten "to have my breast removed"?

My doctor has told me that since one of the lumps is very near my lymph nodes, and if the histology report shows that the cancer has spread to other parts, I would likely be advised to remove my breast.

The above sentence is taken from a local newspaper.

Is the part in bold correct? Would it be better if it were rewritten "to have my breast removed"?

Thanks.

Thanks, Elanguest.

Does "remove my breast" imply that she removes her breast herself?.

No, not really. She's having a conversation with a doctor. I don't think a doctor would give that kind of advice under normal circumstances.

That's the only way I find natural.
